Wayne Wilton, age 83, joined his belated wife, Peggy Bollermann, in the early morning hours of Friday, November 9, 2018.
Born in Ossining, New York on September 20, 1935, Wayne was the son of the late Stuart Gordon and Barbara Bowyer Wilton. He was a proud United States Air Force Veteran, retiring with the rank of Staff Sergeant and was a warehouse supervisor for S & S Cafeteria. Wayne enjoyed spending his free time collecting coins, bird watching, woodworking, and following the Atlanta Braves. Friendship Baptist was his church home.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank and Robert Wilton.
Wayne’s memory will forever be treasured by his daughters, Donna M. Waldorf and Cynthia A. Peeler, both of Warner Robins, and Ellen M. Mirakovits of Dahlonega; son, Benjamin W. Wilton of Perry; grandchildren, Cassie Foster of Savannah, Patricia Jones of Jacksonville, Florida, Darrel Jones of Statesboro, Amanda Griffin of Macon, Brianna McWhirter of Perry, Lauren Mirakovits of Dahlonega, Josef Mirakovits of Cumming, Adam Mirakovits of Dahlonega, and Sarah and Joshua Wilton, both of Perry; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, November 12, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Dr. Paul Cowles officiating. Following the service, Wayne will be laid to rest next to Peggy in Magnolia Park Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Wayne Wilton to Friendship Baptist Church, 1322 Feagin Mill Rd., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
