Stella Mcclung

Warner Robins – Stella M. McClung entered into rest Sunday, May 3, 2009.

Mrs. McClung was born on December 16, 1919, in Woodstock. The former secretary of Fulton Road Baptist Church in Mobile, Alabama, she attended Green Acres Baptist Church where she worked with the 4 – 5 year old children for several years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #278 in Columbus, Georgia, a national member of AARP, and a member of NARFE. For many years she served her community as a volunteer, as a Ladies Auxiliary volunteer at Houston Medical Center and, most notably, at the Warner Robins Museum of Aviation where she logged over 3000 hours of service. She was predeceased by her husband of fifty-two years, Charlie H. McClung; parents, Melvin T. McCollum and Emma Clayton McCollum; brothers, Edgar McCollum, G.W. McCollum and Norris McCollum.

Cherishing her memory are her son, Larry McClung, (Paula) Lincoln, Nebraska; granddaughter, Amber York, (Brian), Lincoln, Nebraska; great-granddaughters, Cayleigh Jo York and Shannyn Kathleen York; brother, Tommy McCollum (Geneva), Dunwoody; and a number of nieces and nephews.

There will be a drop-in visitation Friday, May 8, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Entombment in Magnolia Park Mausoleum will be private. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
