Steven Malcolm Clement

October 25, 1959 — July 4, 2022

Devoted husband and son, Steven Malcolm “Redman” Clement, won his battle with cancer by walking through the gates of heaven on Monday, July 4, 2022. He was 62 years old.

From the time of his diagnosis with pancreatic cancer, Steven never complained and fought valiantly against the disease. Through multiple surgeries, which he faced alone during COVID, and running errands for his mom, Steven was a rock for everyone. He loved his job as an insurance broker and spent 27 years as a business owner at SMC Consultants. Throughout his illness and the pandemic, Steven still took time to help people with their insurance needs. Not only did he love his job, he was good at it. He proudly completed courses to become a Registered Employee Benefits Consultant and a Registered Health Underwriter from the National Association of Health Underwriters. He was also a past president with the National Association of Health Underwriters.

Steven was born on October 25, 1959, to Annis Moore Clement and the late Sidney Malcolm Clement in Jackson, Mississippi. He was a 1978 graduate of Warner Robins High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Mercer University in 1982 where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. An avid basketball player, he enjoyed playing all sports. His two favorite teams were the University of Alabama and Georgia Tech. Steven was a huge fan of the Crimson Tide. In his spare time, Steven liked to hunt and fish as well as cook on the grill. His sheepdogs were his girls and he loved them like they were children. More than anything, Steven enjoyed hanging out with his wife and fur baby at home.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sidney Malcolm Clement; grandparents, Bryce Moore and Edna Moore; and his precious sheepdogs, Gracie Allen and Ellie Mae.

Those left to treasure his memory are his wife of 18 years, Megan Nicole Maynor Clement; mother, Annis Moore Clement; sister, Kristal Clement Waller (Tim, Sr.) of Bonaire; nieces and nephews, Tiffany, Samantha, Timmy Jr., Makenzie, and Kyndall; sister-in-law, Courtney Goss (Tog); his second parents, James Maynor, Jr. and Pamela T. Maynor; and his adored fur baby, Shelby Rae.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2022 at McCullough Funeral Home. His service will immediately follow visitation at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Steven will be laid to rest privately.
