Stewart Earnest, 68, passed into the hands of his Lord on Friday, June 3, 2016.
Stewart was born on May 28, 1948 in Donalsonville, Georgia to the late Claude A. and Nancy Mathews Earnest. Stewart was the former leader of the Middle Georgia Chapter of The Compassionate Friends and current leader of the South Central Georgia Chapter. Empire Pentecostal Holiness Church in Cochran was his church home.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Evan Earnest.
Stewart's memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 34 years, Elaine Earnest of Kathleen; daughters, Ashley Peacock (Lee) of Austin, Texas and Kim Gibson (Bill) of Columbus; son, Ken Earnest of Columbus; and grandchildren, Carter and Cohen Peacock, Jessie Gibson, and Emily Earnest.
Visitation will be Monday, June 6, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Williams, Rev. Tim Lamb, and Rev. Charles Hanson officiating. Following the service, Mr. Earnest will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Stewart to Empire Pentecostal Holiness Church Building Fund, 101 Church St., Cochran, GA 31014 or to The Compassionate Friends (TCF), 1000 Jorie Blvd, Ste 140, Oak Brook, IL 60523.
