Susan Pedersen

April 4, 1955 — July 8, 2017

On July 8th, Susan passed away from a stroke. Her death, was sudden and unexpected. It was only after the fact that we learned of a family history. Her family is planning to hold a celebration of her life over Labor Day weekend in NY. As logistics become available, they will be readily communicated.

Susan was born in 1955 to Eleanor and Glenn Saunders. Her one-woman show was soon interrupted, but not upstaged by the arrival of her sister, Linda, and her brother, Ed. She never let them forget who was in charge. Throughout her childhood, she excelled in her studies and spent a lot of special time with her beloved Aunt Margaret. As she reached adulthood, she went to school at the University of South Florida. While in Florida, she had her first son, Webb, and then upon returning to New York, had her sons, Jay and Glenn. Her sons were everything to her, and she was everything to them. She never missed a chance to tell them how much she loved them, or to take care of them, even as adults. She loved her grandkids, Keegan, Lauren, Alexis, KT, Conner, and Brennen. She doted on them, and spoiled them. They bragged that she was a badass and a "cool grandma".

Suzi made a lot of very special friends, too many to list here, as she moved between jobs at Keith Clark, Penguin Putnam, and Best Buy. She expected a lot out of her coworkers, and her teams. She never let them slip up without correcting them; and she always did it with kindness, fairness, and consistency. She relished in her work accomplishments. Anyone who knew her, knew her love of interrogations, figuring out people's angle, and letting them think they had the upper-hand. She loved rooting for the underdogs. She made the best macaroni and cheese (it is famous in some parts of NY, and FL). She was awesome and left us too soon. But, she would tell us all, "Look, I get it. It sucks. But you can't change it, so you have to accept it, and get on with it, and do what you gotta do." We will miss you, your laugh, your kindness, and your heart. You were more than any of us ever deserved.
