Susanne Gawaine Knowles, 69, entered into rest on Saturday, August 3, 2024.
Susanne was born on January 23, 1955, in St. Clair, Michigan to the late Albert and Virginia Barks. Growing up around carnivals, she traveled with her family all over the country until settling in Warner Robins in the early 70s. Most of her professional life was spent as a server for a variety of restaurants, including the Robins Air Force Base restaurant, Ryan’s Steakhouse, Houston Medical Center Cafeteria, and Shakey’s Pizzas. In her free time, Susanne enjoyed attending concerts, particularly rock and roll bands, with her favorite being Journey. She also enjoyed plants and gardening, yard work, chickens, and her beloved cats. Her sweet countenance will be deeply missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In addition to her parents, Susanne was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Charles Wayne Knowles and her two sisters.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her daughters, Virginia Varner (Jed), and Holly Knowles; grandchildren, Brooklyn Dyer, Trinity Collier, Dani G. Collier, Christopher Eagy, Jacob Eagy, Katelyn Eagy, and Charlee Knowles; great-grandchildren, Abigail Godfrey, Aspen Dyer, Karleigh Eagy, Briar Rose Eagy, Noella Eagy, and Jaxon Eagy, along with four stepsisters and one stepbrother.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2024, at First Presbyterian Church of Warner Robins. Afterward, Susanne will be privately laid to rest in Magnolia Park Mausoleum.
