Tanya Kay Wright

On the morning of Monday, January 9, 2023, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away at the age of 76.

Tanya was born on November 3, 1946 in the Bronx, NY to the late John and Margaret Johnson Filetti. She retired with many fulfilling years as an emergency room nurse at Houston Healthcare and was a longtime, faithful member of First Baptist Church of Centerville. There, Tanya enjoyed being a part of the Doris Grey Sunday School Class and fellowshipping with her church family. In her free time, you could find her cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs (GO DAWGS!), gardening her flowers, and reading.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Frank Wright; her son, Stephen Scott Wright; and her brother and sister-in-law, Butch and Judy Filetti.

She is survived by her loving son, Dr. John Wright (Holly) of Valdosta, GA; grandchildren, Savanna Aldridge (Jay) of Aston, PA, Austin Wright of Perry, GA and Noah and Hogan Wright, both of Valdosta, GA; great-grandchildren, Adriana and JJ Aldridge; sister, Sandra Riner (Wayne) of Eidson, TN; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation with Tanya’s family will be Friday, January 13, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Don Feezor officiating. Tanya will be laid to rest in Centerville Cemetery following the service.
