On October 9, 2021, Terry Lee Zimmerman, loving husband and father of three sons, passed away at the age of 70.
Terry had a passion for woodworking and golf as well as a good cigar. His woodworking pieces were much admired not only by friends and family but also by all who have seen his work. His work can be seen locally at some popular businesses.Terry was known for his compassionate spirit and acceptance of all.
Born on September 30,1951 in Bay City, Michigan, he was the son of Eli and Barbara Zimmerman. He retired from the United States Air Force in 1994 after a 24-year career, where he reached the rank of Master Sergeant. He spent most of his career as a Radio Communications Craftsman. He was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal with two devices, the National Defense Service Medal, The Humanitarian Service Medal, the Overseas Short Tour ribbon and served during Operation Desert Shield/Storm/Calm. On August 12, 1972, he married Kathryn Fay Bruske. Together, he and his wife raised three sons, Christopher, Steven, and William. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Macon State College in 2002. He taught and worked in I.T. until his retirement in 2017.
Terry was preceded in death by his father, Eli and his mother, Barbara. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; his three sons, Christopher, Steven, and William; five grandchildren, Jaren, Ethan, Tegan, Quinn, and Hudson; and family dog, Max.
Visitation with the family will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at McCullough Funeral Home. His funeral service will be held following visitation at 2:00 pm in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, 417 South Houston Lake Road, Warner Robins, GA 31088. Reverend Jeff Cleghorn will officiate the service. For friends unable to attend at this time, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made in Terry’s honor to Cherished Children, 511 Myrtle, Warner Robins, GA 31093.
