Terry Dane Murphy

October 24, 1951 — February 14, 2025

Warner Robins

Terry Dane Murphy, 73, entered into rest on Friday, February 14, 2025.

Terry was born on October 24, 1951, in Macon, Georgia to the late Harry Eugene Murphy and Betty Chambers Murphy, lived a life marked by curiosity, service, and an unwavering passion for learning.

His professional journey began with the Air National Guard, where he rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant, embodying dedication and discipline. Following his military service, he embarked on a 35-year career at Robins Air Force Base as an Avionics Technician, leaving a lasting impact through his expertise and mentorship.

A highly intelligent man, Terry had a knack for teaching and sharing knowledge. Affectionately known as a "mad scientist" and a true jack-of-all-trades, he mastered a wide variety of skills—from computer programming and photography to welding, building, and mechanics. His adventurous spirit led him to earn a private pilot’s license, and his love for speed drew him to the Warner Robins Dragway; he loved his hot rods!

Beyond his technical talents, Terry found immense joy in the simple beauty of nature. Whether tending to the flowers in his vibrant yard, birdwatching, camping, or fishing, he embraced the outdoors with a deep sense of appreciation. However, his greatest joy came from time spent with family, creating cherished memories and embracing his role as a proud grandfather.

A special thanks to the staff of Church Home for the love and care they provided to Terry. While he was in the memory care facility, he would walk laps through the building, often stopping by Tara’s desk to get a peppermint for his journey.

Terry’s legacy is one of intellect, curiosity, and love—qualities that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.

In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Amanda Murphy Ellison.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 51 years, Brenda Phillips Murphy; son, Christopher Steven Murphy (Dana) and son-in-law, Kenneth Ellison; granddaughter, Amanda Ellison; brother, Allen Murphy (Deborah); and nieces and nephews, Travis Murphy (Wendy) and Todd Murphy (Katie), Ryan Phillips (Mandi) Brandi Nasworthy (Gene), Micky Childs (Kenny), Gracie Phillips, Matthew Nasworthy, Lillian Nasworthy, Finn Childs, Thad, Boogie, Aiden, and Everett, along with many other loving family members and friends.
