Theresa June Weeks, 69, entered into rest on Sunday, February 26, 2023.
June was born on February 2, 1954, in Dublin, Georgia to the late Tom Yarbrough, Sr. and Martha Godley. June was a woman of many interesting hobbies. She loved going to the beach, reading the Word, “glamping”, sewing, mentoring, having meaningful conversations about various topics with those she loved, and being “Eddie’s” helpmate extraordinaire on his outdoor adventures. She was known to be an “instant Momma” to whomever her children brought home. June was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who was loved by everyone that knew her. She was an extraordinary and beautiful human, who loved her family with a fierce, nourishing love, making each of them feel special beyond compare. As a wife, she loved Ed with depth and balance demonstrating a living-love, steadfast companion, and “partner in adventure” that danced out a love story second to none, and inspired all who witnessed it. Bobby, Jason, and Carisa always held their mom in a high place of honor, while their love-lived-out was palpable over the years. The light in her eyes always seemed to shine just a bit brighter when it came to her grandchildren, Bella, Gia, and Zoe. They brought out the joy and fun in June; evoking a love-soaked smile in all of us. As a sister, she was the unique glue that connected their hearts and the sister they loved profoundly. In corporate circles, June was a sought-out mentor because of her leadership gifts, demonstrated skill, and love of people. She taught us all so much. We are thankful for having known her and graced by the way she impacted our lives. While our hearts are saddened, we choose to look ahead knowing she is in a place where Love lives and Joy abounds.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband of 43 years, Ed Weeks; children, Robert Weeks (wife Laura), Jason Weeks (wife Kimberly), and Carisa Maccaferri (husband Dave); granddaughters, Isabella Weeks, Gia Maccaferri and Zoe Maccaferri; and siblings, Freda Parker, Tom Yarbrough Jr. (wife Miriam), Jenny Anderson, Larry Yarbrough, and Lee Lord (Husband Justin).
A memorial service will be Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. A memorial gathering will immediately follow at The Farmhouse at McCullough Funeral Home until 1:00 p.m.
