Theresa May Hymel Godt Tweed, passed away on December 30, 2017 after a lingering illness. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on May 7, 1934. Theresa was a certified nurse’s assistant, a volunteer at Warner Robins Social Club, and a long-time parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a resident of Warner Robins for 37 years. She was a long-time breast cancer survivor and had been a member of Bosom Buddies. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Earl W. Godt, parents, Theophile “Dewey” and Edith Abreo Hymel, and brothers, Albert, Earl, and Milton Hymel.
She is survived by her husband, Dewey H. Tweed of Warner Robins; sons, Earl W. Godt, II (Pamela) of Vashon, Washington, and Eric E. Godt of Warner Robins; stepdaughter, Sharon Matsie of Warner Robins; stepson, Charles Tweed of Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Lee Hymel Farringer of Dixon, Illinois; brother, Arthur Hymel (Joy) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; three grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Rosary with visitation will be Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. After the service, Theresa will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Theresa M. Godt Tweed to the American Cancer Society 804 Cherry Street, Suite A, Macon, GA 31201 or Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
