Mr. Thomas C. Finney, 58, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. Thomas was born in Macon in 1960 to the late Thomas Collins Finney and Myrtis Christine Byrd Finney. In 1965 his family moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where he was a 1978 graduate of Nathan B. Forest High School. Thomas moved back to Warner Robins in 1983.
Following high school, Thomas spent some time working as a security guard but his greatest enjoyment came from being outdoors. Thomas loved to ride motorcycles. He also enjoyed working on motorcycles and lawnmowers. He enjoyed working outside in the yard, and water-skiing. He loved sports and enjoyed participating in handicapped sports. Thomas was a member of the Macon Handicap League.
Thomas leaves behind his mother, Myrtis Christine Byrd Finney, Centerville; brother, Russell M. Finney, Sr. (Katie), Fleming Island, FL; nephew, Russell M. Finney, Jr. (Linda), Jacksonville, FL; nieces, Jennifer Thurman (Lloyd), Jacksonville, FL, and Kristina Finney, Chicago, IL; and three grand-nephews, David Finney, Jacob Finney, and Wyatt Thurman.
Visitation with the family will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August, 12, 2018 at McCullough Funeral Home. The funeral service celebrating the life of Thomas Finney will be held immediately following the visitation, at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 12, in the chapel at McCullough Funeral Home. Following the service, Thomas will be laid to rest in Oaklawn Cemetery in Fort Valley, Georgia.
