Thomas J. Bussing

January 18, 1930 — February 10, 2016

In the early morning hours of Wednesday, February 10, 2016, Thomas J. Bussing, 86, entered the gates of heaven. He was the loving son of the late Halsey and Sarah Potter Bussing. Thomas was born in Rossville, Georgia on January 18, 1930. After graduating from High School, he proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Following his years of active duty, Thomas attended the University of Chattanooga receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. He along with his family, moved to Warner Robins, where he began working as an engineer at Robins Air Force Base until his retirement. Thomas was a member of Second Baptist Church and Dennis Watts Sunday School Class. He taught Sunday school for many years at Red Bank Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee, as well as Second Baptist Church in Warner Robins. In his spare time he enjoyed bowling and was an avid golfer with his church league.

His parents, siblings, J.R. Bussing, Sara Weingartner, Marie Cox, and Frank Bussing, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 59 years, Violet Brady Bussing of Warner Robins; daughters, Beverley Null (Tim) of Minnesota; Melinda Bryant (Dr. Mark Bryant) of Cochran; Alison Warstler (Mark) of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Chantelle Null Schlossin (Adam), Keighley Null, Miranda Bryant, Maverick Bryant, Connor Warstler, Gillian Warstler; great-grandson, Damian Schlossin; siblings, Evelyn Damrow of Scottsdale, Arizona; Betty Parris of Springfield, Missouri; and Reverend George Bussing of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and many other family members and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, February 12, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2016 in the Chapel of McCullough. Following the service, Thomas will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery with military honors.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Thomas J. Bussing to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, Ga 31088.
