Thomas Mccoy

Tom McCoy, 84, entered into rest on Friday, May 27, 2011.

Born on January 30, 1927, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Tom attended High Point High College and subsequently Georgia College and University in Milledgeville where he received a Bachelor's Degree. He retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base as an Inventory Specialist after 23 years of faithful and loyal service. Tom was a member of First Presbyterian Church and was an avid golfer. His parents, Herbert McCoy and Kate Lawing McCoy, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of 58 years, Elsie McCoy, Warner Robins; daughters, Lesley Givens (Bob), Tyrone, Susan Shirah (Bill), Warner Robins, and Mary Holmes (John), Macon; son, Tommy McCoy (Terri), Warner Robins; grandchildren, Stephanie Hosick, Josh Givens, Parker and Mallory Shirah, Beth and John Paul Holmes, Katie, Caroline and Carly McCoy; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Eleanor Eubanks, Baltimore, Maryland, and Cathy Shonts (Ted), Charlotte, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at First Presbyterian Church of Warner Robins, the Reverend Paula Hoffman officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will be private. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Warner Robins, 1139 Watson Boulevard, Warner Robins GA 31093, or to the Heart Of Georgia Inpatient Hospice, 120 Morningside Drive, Perry GA 31069.
