Thomas "Tom" B. Shell

Tom Shell, 65, walked into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, December 26, 2020.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, on November 5, 1955, Tom was the son of Rosemary Thompson and the late Raleigh Shell. He proudly served his country in the United States Army where he was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. In 1976, he joined the Warner Robins Police Department where he served his community until 1991. Tom was honored to become a U.S. Deputy Marshal until his retirement in 2012.

A faithful and longtime member of Centerville United Methodist Church, Tom enjoyed being part of the Seekers Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Men. He loved spending time with his family, loving on his cats, going on cruises, traveling, reading, and talking on his Ham Radio.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Sherrie Shell; daughter, Heather Ray (Zack); mother, Rosemary Thompson; sisters, Kelly Evans (Kelly), Beth Shell, Regina Smith (Randy), and Debra Roberson (Leon); nieces, Stefanie Rushing (Matt), Holden Rushing, Ashley Ake, Jayden Ake, Cher Gaskins (Jay), and Tonia Smith (Matt); nephews, Andrew Evans (Mandy), Scott Smith (Jody), Curt Fowler, Justin Shell, and Mark Fowler; and cats, Delilah, Millie, and Barkley.

The family will receive friends at Centerville United Methodist Church on Monday, December 28, 2020, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Tom will be laid to rest in a graveside funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in Parkway Memorial Gardens with Pastor Tommy Odum and Pastor Kevin Clotfelter officiating. Casual attire is suggested by the family.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Tom to Centerville United Methodist Church, 600 N. Houston Lake Blvd., Centerville, GA 31028.
