Early on the morning of Sunday, October 14, 2018, Toni Hippensteel Copeland, 74, joined her Lord and Savior in heaven.
Mrs. Copeland was born on August 26, 1944 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to the late Denton L. and Jeanne Swartz Hippensteel. A 1962 graduate of Murphy High School in Mobile, Alabama, she spent most of her life in Centerville where she served in various civic functions and even once ran for the office of Mayor. She and her husband also served as foster parents in the community for ten years. An avid fan of the Atlanta Braves, Mrs. Copeland also enjoyed attending the Crochet Club of Middle Georgia. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Centerville where she had served as director of outreach and as a part-time secretary.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her adoring husband of forty-nine years, Paul Gilbert Copeland; her daughter, Angela Lynn Hinton (Mark) of St. John’s, Florida; her grandson, Luke Hinton; her brothers, Kenny Hippensteel and Denny Hippensteel (Brenda), both of Mobile, Alabama; and a host of other loving family members and friends.
The memorial service celebrating Mrs. Copeland’s life will be held at 2:00 on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Stephen Keith officiating. Interment will be private.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Serenity Hospice, Central Georgia Cancer Center, and Fabian Franco, MD for their loving care for Mrs. Copeland.
McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with Mrs. Copeland’s arrangements.
