Tsgt. Andrew J. "Andy" Oder

Andrew J. Oder, 79, walked through Heaven's gates on Wednesday, November 11, 2015.

Andy was born on May 19, 1936 in Gordon, Alabama to the late Royce and Annie Parsons Oder. He was an active member of Friendship Baptist Church for many years, where he was also a member of the Mellette Sunday School Class and active in the 55 plus Senior Adult Program. Andy proudly served for 20 years in the United States Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War and retiring with the rank of Tech Sergeant. He then continued to work as Lead Sheet Metal Mechanic at Robins Air Force Base, until his retirement from civil service. In his spare time, he enjoyed music, playing the guitar, helping anyone in need, and working for the church.

Along with his parents; his sisters, Laura Parrish and Margaret Womack; and brother, J.B. Oder, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 58 years, Mabel Wilkinson Oder of Bonaire; sons, Jerry Oder (Joy) of Saint Peters, Missouri, David Oder (Vicki) of Lawrenceville, Jeffrey Oder of Bonaire; grandchildren, Dustin, Tiffany, Andrew, Derek, Kristin, Amber, and Dylan Oder; as well as, brother, Royce K. Oder (Celeste) of Dothan, Alabama; sister, Sara Sims (Burdett) of Panama City, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, November 13, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Friendship Baptist Church. Following the service, Mr. Oder will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Andrew J. Oder to Friendship Baptist Church Building Fund, 1322 Feagin Mill Road, Warner Robins, Ga 31088.
