Charley Roscoe Stephens, 77, entered into rest on September 12, 2008.
Mr. Stephens was born on September 18, 2008, in Ashburn. With pride and honor, he served his country in the U.S. Air Force, during the Korea and Vietnam era, and retired with the rank of Tech Sergeant. He went to work as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service; he retired, and then volunteered with the Houston Medical Center for several years. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and of the Mail Carriers Union. His parents, Joseph Daniel Stephens and Eula Florence Hobby, and daughter, Vicky Lynn Stephens, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of fifty-seven years, Patsy Stephens; children, Bruce Stephens (Marsha), Peachtree City, Debra Green, Warner Robins, John Stephens, Warner Robins, Lori Crawford (Gary), Bonaire, and Beth Harper (Bobby), Bonaire; grandchildren, Rachael and Caleb Green, Jessica and Alyssa Stephens, Samantha, Ben and Hannah Crawford, and Hunter Harper; great-grandchild, Luke Thomason; brothers, Jeff Stephens, Forsyth and Gene Stephens, Martinez; and sisters, Marguerite Cumbus, Martinez, and Sue Carr, Fort Valley.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 14, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 15, 2008, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home; Reverend Tim Millwood officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Flowers may be given or the family suggests donations be made to American Heart Association, 3312 Northside Drive, Suite 140 A, Macon, GA 31210-0429.
