TSgt George Hughes USAF (Ret.), 77, entered into rest on Tuesday, September 9, 2014
George was born on November 2, 1936 in Rushville, Illinois. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force retiring after twenty years with the rank of Tech Sergeant. He worked as a computer specialist at Robins Air Force Base for eighteen years. George was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was also an operator for Amateur Radio, AF4GH, a wood worker, a photographer, and a former boy-scout leader.
His son, Peter Anton Hughes; daughter, Linda Marie Hughes; and parents, Horatio and Lucille Watson Hughes, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his adoring wife, Elizabeth Hughes of Warner Robins; son, Brian Keith Hughes of Bonaire; daughters, Celia Marie Hohnadel of Warner Robins, and Denise Marie Hughes of Centerville; grandchildren, Sara Fowler (Cody) of Kathleen; and Emily Lewis (John) of Warner Robins; great grandchild, Antonia Lewis; sisters, Sadie Mendenhall and Mary Hughes of Rushville, Illinois.
A Rosary service will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 6:00p.m.with visitation following until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery with full military honors.
Flowers will be accepted or the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given to the donor's favorite charity in memory of George Hughes.
