Harold Benson Lowery, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, joined his Lord in glory on October 14, 2024, at the age of 93. Born in Chatsworth, Georgia, Harold was the beloved son of the late William Frank and Dovie Weaver Lowery.
Harold fought as a US Army soldier in the Korean War and later served in the Air Force, retiring as a Tech Sergeant. He worked at Robins Air Force Base for many years before retiring from civil service. He was widely known for his humor and his ability to fix almost anything, especially electronics. Late in his life, his study of the scriptures led him to become a Christian, claiming the promise of John 5:24: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Johnnie Mae, and daughter Linda Sue.
Harold is survived by his son Harold; daughter-in-law Anna; and grandchildren Benjamin, Matthew, John Mark, Joshua, and Rebekah Joy.
A visitation with family and friends will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. A funeral service celebrating Harold’s life will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Harold will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
