James C. Lyons, 73, entered into rest on Sunday, April 27, 2014.
James was born on July 20, 1940 in Catlettsburg, Kentucky. A proud Vietnam Veteran, he served ten years in the United States Navy and retired after ten years in the United States Air Force. James also worked at Robins Air Force Base for twelve years as a Supply Clerk and in the Electronics Division. Green Acres Baptist was James' church home. He had a passion for writing poetry and song lyrics and will be dearly missed by his family.
His beloved wife, Barbara A. Lyons; and parents, Donald R. and Ruth A. Lyons, preceded him in death.
James' memory will forever be treasured by his loving children, William J. Lyons, Jr. (Connie), Middletown of Ohio, Judith K. Talbert (Jimmy) of Warner Robins, Georgia and Debbie Jo Hunt (Kim) of North Ogden, Utah; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary Sue Moore (Ed) of Temple Terrace, Florida, Linda Kay Lowe of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Roy C. Cook, Jr. (Brenda) of Ashland, Kentucky; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 30, 2014, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Green Acres Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Parkway Memorial Gardens with Full Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given to the Alzheimer's Association, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA 31201
