TSgt. John Calvin Beatty, USAF (Ret.), 70, of Warner Robins, Georgia, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025. Born on January 5, 1955, in Murrysvilles, Pennsylvania, to the late Calvin and Martha Gillmore Beatty, John lived a life of service, dedication, and love for his family and country.
John proudly served his country for 23 years in the United States Air Force, where he served with distinction during the Vietnam War. He retired as a Tech Sergeant, having earned the respect and admiration of his fellow servicemen and women. His commitment to duty extended well beyond his military career; after retiring from the Air Force, John continued to serve his country as an equipment specialist at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia, where he worked in civil service.
A man of many passions, John found joy in simple pleasures. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed restoring cars, and had a special love for building model airplanes. In his spare time, he could often be found tinkering with woodworking projects, bringing his creative ideas to life. His attention to detail and dedication were evident in everything he did.
John was a proud member of the American Legion Post 594 in Warner Robins, Georgia, where he enjoyed camaraderie with fellow veterans and giving back to his community.
His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife, Helen; children Elizabeth Williamson (Keegan) of Savannah, Georgia, Dwaine Beatty of Perry, Georgia, and Sylvia Enright of Longmont, Colorado; granddaughter, Claire Enright; and siblings, Tom Beatty (Barbara) of Sarver, Pennsylvania and Audrey Thall of Apollo, Pennsylvania.
A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home, with a memorial service following in the chapel. Afterward, John will be laid to rest privately.
