Tsgt. John Clay Gallagher, Usaf (Ret.)

September 1, 1954 — December 31, 2014

John Clay Gallagher passed away unexpectedly on the evening of Wednesday, December 31, 2014. He was 60 years old.

John was born on September 1, 1954 in Frankfort, Kentucky to the late John Ried and Anna Clay Harp Gallagher. He grew up in Cynthiana, Kentucky and was of the Catholic faith.

He was honored to be a veteran of the Air Force serving stateside during the Vietnam War and Desert Storm. After his military retirement, he worked for the City of Warner Robins for several years. John was a well-liked member of American Legion Post 172 where he served as Commander and Chaplain and a proud member of the Middle Georgia Honor Guard, as well. A good father, grandfather, and friend too, John touched all of their lives in different ways and will forever be missed.

His parents; brother, Charles Henderson; and sister, Patsy Helm, all preceded him in death.

John's memory will forever be treasured by his loving children, Steven Gallagher (Laurie) of Fort Valley and Amber Wright (Michael) of Nottingham, New Hampshire; grandchildren, Aidan, Riley and William Gallagher, and Sadie Wright; and several adoring nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Andersonville National Cemetery with honors given by Robins Air Force Base Honor Guard supported by the American Legion Post 172.
