James "Mike' Benningfield, 61, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at his residence.
Mr. Benningfield was born on July 22, 1947 in Lebanon, Kentucky. He served his country with pride and honor in the U. S. Air Force as an Air Traffic Control Technician, retiring after twenty-one years having attained the rank of Technical Sergeant. He was predeceased by his parents, John Raymond Benningfield and Margaret Mary Luckett Benningfield, and brother Jackie Benningfield.
His memory will forever be treasured by his wife, Carolyn Cecil Benningfield, Warner Robins; sons, James M. "Jay" Benningfield, Jr. (Amy), Lakeland, Florida and William Thomas "Tommy" Benningfield, Warner Robins; five grandchildren; brothers, Joseph Gary Benningfield, and Pat Benningfield, both of Lebanon, Kentucky; a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, 2009 at the Bosley Funeral Home, 246 South Proctor Knott Avenue, Lebanon, Kentucky. A scripture service will follow at 7:00 p.m., Deacon Joe Dant officiating. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 13, 2009 at Saint Augustine Catholic Church. Committal will follow in the Lebanon National Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Marion County Veterans' Honor Guard.
