TSgt. Leon Edward Lynn, USAF (Ret.) led a life marked by dedication and service, particularly in his proud tenure with the United States Air Force. He passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.
Born on January 12, 1930, Leon joined the United States Air Force in 1948. His skills as an Aircraft Mechanic were evident as he worked on C-54s, contributing significantly to the aviation capabilities of the military. Leon even flew in the Berlin Airlift. His commitment took him to various locations, including a two-year stationing in Newfoundland, where he played a vital role in the air rescue team for the B-17s.
Continuing his journey, Leon found himself stationed in Bermuda at Kindley Air Force Base for four years before returning to Warner Robins in 1967. Leon concluded his remarkable career marked by service, sacrifice, and a profound love for his country in 1970 at Robins Air Force Base.
Beyond his professional achievements, Leon had a passion for bowling. He cherished moments spent with whole family and friends during these games, creating lasting memories.
His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Deborah Jean Lynn, Leon Edward Lynn, III (Sandy), and Mark Alan Lynn (Sherry Elizabeth); grandchildren, Noel Lynn (Danielle), Anthony Lynn (Candice), and Cody Alan; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Keegan, Caleb, Cason, and Ava Mae Lynn.
A memorial gathering with Military Honors will take place on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Leon Edward Lynn will be laid to rest privately.
