Tsgt. Leonard Perry Campbell, Usaf (Ret.)

August 14, 1935 — July 29, 2021

Early on the morning of Thursday, July 29, 2021, Leonard Perry Campbell joined his Lord and Savior in Heaven. He was 85 years old.

The son of the late, Leonard Austin and Ruth Perry Campbell, Leonard was born on August 14, 1935, in Gordon County, Georgia. He graduated from Bokchito High School in Bokchito, Oklahoma, before enlisting in the United States Air Force. A true patriot, Leonard served his country during the Vietnam War. He retired with the rank of Technical Sergeant. After his retirement, Leonard continued his service to his country as an Aircraft Mechanic on Robins Air Force Base for several years until his second and final retirement. A man of faith, Leonard was a devoted member of Green Acres Baptist Church. He will always be remembered for his love and dedication to his church, family, friends, and America.

In addition to his parents, Leonard was preceded in death by his siblings, Floy Sullivan and J.D. Campbell; and brothers-in-law, Willard Goble, Kenneth Alexander, Raymond Jesse, Johnny Bundrant; and sister-in-law, Joann Campbell.

His memory will forever be treasured by his adoring wife of 66 years, Mary Nell Goble Campbell of Warner Robins; children, Roger Campbell (Becky) of Lizella; and Cathy Snow (Ed) of Macon; grandchildren, Ryan Campbell (Niki) and Tyler Campbell (Amanda), all of Macon; great-grandchildren, Brendan Campbell, Nick Turkaly, and Riley Campbell, all of Macon; siblings, Lela Bundrant, Glenn Campbell (Kitty), all of Bokchito, Oklahoma; Kathryn Mixer (John) of Guthrie, Oklahoma; and Ronnie Campbell (Cathy) of Rowlett, Texas; and sisters-in-law, Eleanor Goble of Dalton; Betty Alexander of Atlanta; and brothers-in-law; Jerry Goble (Charlotte) of Sugar Valley; and Terry Goble (Joann) of Calhoun; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

Visitation with Leonard’s family will be held on Sunday, August 1, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A graveside service celebrating his life follow at 2:30 p.m. in the mausoleum at Parkway Memorial Gardens with Pastor Micah Emory and Mr. Gary Williams officiating. For friends and family unable to attend, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of TSgt. Leonard Perry Campbell, USAF (Ret.) to Green Acres Baptist Church Building Fund, 901 Elberta Road, Warner Robins, Georgia 31093.
