Tsgt. Ralph A. Birchfield, Usaf (Ret.)

Early on the morning of Wednesday, February 14, 2018, Ralph Allan Birchfield, 74, joined his Lord and Savior in heaven.

Mr. Birchfield was born on May 7, 1943 in Bangor, Maine to the late Ralph Anion and Elizabeth Beal Birchfield. He served his country with pride and honor in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Tech Sergeant before his retirement. Subsequent to his military service, he continued in civil service where he retired after 37 years as a sheet metal mechanic. Mr. Birchfield possessed a private pilot’s license and enjoyed flying. He was an accomplished guitarist and violinist, and he enjoyed various water sports. A passionate follower of Christ who loved the Lord with all his heart, Mr. Birchfield was an elder at Evergreen Family Fellowship. He loved his wife as Christ loved the church, and time spent with his children and grandchildren brought him great joy.

His memory will forever be treasured by his adoring wife of 48 years, Linda Prescott Birchfield; his children, Michael Birchfield (Heather) of Warner Robins, Angela Farnell (Chris) of Warner Robins, and Scott Birchfield (Amy) of Fayetteville, Georgia; his grandchildren, Elizabeth and Michael Birchfield, Jr., and Karson and Kason Farnell; and his sister, Mary Jordan of Wildwood, Florida.

Visitation with Mr. Birchfield’s family will be Friday, February 16, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. The funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Senter officiating. Following the service, Mr. Birchfield will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made in memory of TSgt. Ralph A.
