Tsgt. Thomas Leahy, Usaf (Ret.)

TSgt. Thomas Leahy, USAF (Ret.) entered into rest on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at the age 72.

Mr. Leahy was born on December 11, 1949, in Hartford, Connecticut, to the late James and Mary McMahon Leahy. A veteran of the United States Air Force, Mr. Leahy courageously served during Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. He retired after 21-years of selfless service with the rank of Technical Sergeant. With a hard work ethic, Mr. Leahy continued to assist the USAF as a Civilian on Robins Air Force Base until his final retirement.

When asked what he did for retirement, Mr. Leahy jokingly responded, “I’m in transportation,” as he would drive his wife across the country to see many places. Mr. Leahy mainly enjoyed spending time at his home with his family.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of 49 years, Janet Irene Muszynski Leahy; children, Patrick Leahy (Alexandra) of Georgia; siblings, Dorothy Gavalis (James), Mary Lou Upson, and Arlene Buckley (Kenneth), all of Connecticut; grand dogs, “Ruby” and “Rocko,” as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at McCullough Funeral Home. Mr. Leahy’s inurnment will be private.
