Tyrus John Livingston, age 61, passed away at the Houston Medical Center on Monday, May 16, 2022.
Born in Athens, Georgia to Jeanette Cochran Livingston and the late David Hayes Livingston, Tyrus grew up in the Augusta area. His father was a weatherman and the family relocated for his dad’s job in Warner Robins in the early 1970s. Tyrus graduated from Northside High School in 1979. While in high school he played baseball, which he enjoyed immensely. After high school, Tyrus was employed as an industrial electrician for Weyerhaeuser. He continued that work as a traveling electrician for H&M Industrial, Tryad Electrical, and Duke. An avid Atlanta Braves fan, he also enjoyed NASCAR racing and drag racing. He enjoyed working on cars as well and had been a drag racer at one time. Tyrus was a simple man who also collected coins and antiques.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Hayes Livingston.
Left to treasure his memory are his mother, Jeanette Livingston; children, Cristin Livingston of Hiawassee, Georgia, Aimee Livingston Corcoran (Michael) of Loganville, Georgia, Mindi Lee Livingston of Trenton, Michigan, Kathryn Livingston of Kingsland, Georgia, and Joseph Livingston of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Austin Livingston, Alexis Livingston, and Kelsey Corcoran; great grandchildren, Marlee Livingston and Maddox Corcoran; and siblings, Kim Pageant (Craig) of Dahlonega, Georgia, Lynn Livingston of Hiawasee, Clay Livingston (Sherri) of Hiawassee.
