Vickie Smith Barnes

Vickie Smith Barnes, age 68, passed away on July 21, 2024. She was born on March 9, 1956, in Roanoke, Virginia, and was the daughter of the late George and Lucile Smith. 

Vickie was a dedicated homemaker who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a deep affection for animals, often nurturing them as part of her extended family. Her evenings were often spent engrossed in crime shows, a passion that reflected her curiosity and love for mystery. Vickie cherished moments spent with friends and family, valuing every opportunity to catch up and share laughter.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill Barnes; her son, Randy Jenkins, Jr.; her parents, George and Lucile Smith; and her brother, Lloyd Smith.

Vickie is survived by her son, Mike Jenkins, and siblings Bill Smith of Bonaire, GA, Glenda Lawrence of Mocksville, NC, Sandra Sours of Marshallville, GA, and Lona Gillespie of High Point, NC.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 24, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 25,2024, at Parkway Memorial Gardens.
