Our beloved son and brother, Victor Thomas (Tommy) Simerly, 46, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 29, 2005. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 3, at the Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, at McCullough Funeral Home.
Mr. Simerly was born in San Antonio, Texas on April 28, 1958.He graduated from Northside High School in 1976, where he won the State Championship for the Rifle Team and was a member of the ROTC. After high school, Mr. Simerly went on to join the United States Navy where he served on the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk. He then took a job in Grotten, Connecticut as a computer technician with General Dynamics, where he worked for five years. Mr. Simerly followed his dreams to New York City where he worked as a stage manager for the Sally Jesse Raphael Show, the Rush Limbaugh Show, the Phil Donahue Show and the American Film Institute Words & Music production of The English Patient. In 1999 he came home to Warner Robins because of his failing health due to Mesothelioma. He was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church.
Survivors include, parents, Vera and Bobby McDonald, Warner Robins; brother, Andre Simerly, Macon, Georgia; brother, Robert G.S. McDonald, Virginia Beach, Virginia; brother, Joseph T.K. McDonald, Dallas, Georgia; two nieces; three nephews and several aunts and uncles.
