Victoria Jean Brunning, 61, passed away on the evening of Wednesday, April 17, 2024. She was born on May 25, 1962, in Long Island, New York, to the late Herbert and Therese Murphy Newton. Victoria faced health challenges from a young age, being diagnosed with a Congenital Heart Defect. At just 15 months old, she became the youngest successful recipient of open-heart surgery at Saint Francis Hospital in Manhasset, New York.
Growing up in Hicksville, New York, Victoria graduated from Hicksville High School in 1981. On July 13, 1984, she married Thomas Patrick Brunning, with whom she raised a loving family. Despite her own health struggles, Victoria was a compassionate caregiver, working in hospice care through St. Charles Hospital. She brought hope and comfort to many through her home visits.
In 1994, Victoria and her family relocated to Warner Robins, where she continued to dedicate her time and resources to helping others. She was the office manager of her family’s business, EZ Gutters; and volunteered at the Women’s Shelter Abba House, and participated in the call-a-thons for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Victoria was also affectionately known as "Meme" to the neighborhood kids and was cherished for her kind, generous, and loving nature.
Victoria will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for her support and care for those around her, despite facing her own health challenges. Her outgoing spirit and generosity touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
