Vincent Ted ''Stan'' Stanescu, Sr.

Mr. Vincent Stanescu passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at Houston Medical Center. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 23, at Northview United Methodist Church with interment following in Parkway Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday evening, November 21, from 7:00 until 9:00 pm at McCullough Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Vince Stanescu Memorial Fund, care of McCullough Funeral Home, 417 S. Houston Lake Road, Warner Robins, GA.

Mr. Stanescu was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He was retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base where he had been an Air Material Management Officer and was a veteran of the World War II, having served in the United States Army. He served in the 1918th Service Command Unit, was an Expert Marksman and received the Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Stanescu was a member of the Romanian Orthodox Church. His wife, Bette R. Stanescu, and parents, Vasile Paul Stanescu and Anna Victoria (Stroen) Stanescu Popp, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughter, Vicki Stanescu, Warner Robins; son, Vincent Ted Stanescu, Jr., and wife Pamela R. Stanescu, Warner Robins; son Jim La Borde, Boulder Creek, CA; grandchildren, Penelope R. Stanescu, Vasile T. Stanescu; James K. Stanescu; great grandson, David A. Koehler-Stanescu; and niece, Delores Bishop, Lake Forest, CA.
