Vincent Stanescu, Jr., 68, loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, walked into Heaven on Wednesday, September 23, 2015.
Vincent was born on February 8, 1947 in Monrovia, California. He moved to Warner Robins with his family in 1960 and graduated with the Northside High School Class of 1969. As a young man, Vincent met his sweetheart and wife, Pamela, at the Methodist Youth Fellowship at Northview United Methodist Church, where her father was the pastor. They were married on Valentine's Day 1970 and raised three wonderful children together.
For several years, Vincent was in the entertainment business. He was a manager for the Rama, M & T Drive-in and Plaza Theaters in town, and eventually became the General Manager for Martin-Thompson Theaters who owned theaters throughout Georgia. At that time, Vincent was the youngest General Manager of a theater company in all of Georgia. He later became owner and operator of PT Promotions in Warner Robins until he was diagnosed with cancer. Following his diagnosis, Vincent organized several circuses across Georgia to raise money for the American Cancer Society. He also formed a summer camp for Boy Scouts in his neighborhood.
Vincent had a strong sense of devotion to God and was a longtime member of Northview United Methodist Church. He will be remembered as a wonderful family man who enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his wife and children, especially his grandson. Vincent leaves his family and friends behind with heavy hearts, but also with so many joyful memories to cherish.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent Ted Stanescu, Sr. and Bette Dennis Stanescu, and by his sister, Vicki Stanescu.
Vincent's memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 45 years, Pamela Stanescu and by his children, Penelope Ruth "Penny" Stanescu, Vasile Thomas Stanescu (Deborah), and James Karl Stanescu (Sarah), all of Warner Robins; grandson, David A. Koehler-Stanescu; and brother, Jim LaBorde (Arlene) of Boulder Creek, California.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 26, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Northview United Methodist Church on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Vincent Ted Stanescu, Jr. to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
