Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Viola King Yawn, quietly passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at the age of 87. She was born on November 10, 1933 in Hawkinsville, Georgia, to the late Henry C. and Inez Obedience Hart King. Viola retired as the Administrative Director of the Experiment Station for the United States Department of Agriculture. Centerville Baptist was her church home.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Merle Yawn.
She is survived by her loving son, Vernon Yawn (Susan); grandchildren, Jennifer Daigle (Owen) and Lauren Bagley (Jonathan); and great-grandchildren, Autumn, Noah, Josiah, Elorra and Judah.
A memorial gathering will take place from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home on Saturday, May 15, 2021. A memorial service celebrating Viola’s life will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.
