On Friday, December 27, 2013, Virginia B. Hebenstreit died peacefully in her sleep.
Virginia was born March 18, 1910 in Marissa, Illinois to Andrew L. and Mary Ellen (Calvert) Pollock. She graduated from high school in Stonington, Illinois and from Browns Business College in Decatur, Illinois. On April 29, 1943, she married Joseph A. Hebenstreit of Oconee, Illinois. In 1958, she moved from Illinois to Tampa, Florida.
She was a Past Matron of Friendship Chapter #209 Order of Eastern Star at Lutz, and a Past Royal Matron of Majestic Court #45 Order of Amaranth in Tampa, and was a secretary in both organizations for a number of years. A member of the Methodist Church, she was also a volunteer at University Community Hospital for about twelve years. Virginia moved from Florida to Warner Robins, Georgia in 2005.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Lester, John, Robert and Dwight Pollock; and by granddaughters, Jennifer Hebenstreit and Connie Gary.
Virginia is survived by her two sons, John Joseph and Charles Andrew (Sara), both of Warner Robins, Georgia; as well as her nine remaining grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, January 3, 2014, from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will be in Oconee, Illinois on Sunday, January 5, 2014.
