Virginia E. Fike, 90, entered into rest on August 8, 2009.
Mrs. Fike was born on June 15, 1919 in Willard, Ohio, the daughter of Vern and Estella Cole. She lived in the South since 1958 and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Wesleyan Sunday School Class. A sixty-three year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, she belonged to the Martha Berry Chapter #351 of Warner Robins. She also served as Grand Organist for the state of Georgia, Order of the Eastern Star, and was the recipient of the Grand Cross of Colors from the Supreme Assembly, International Order of the Rainbow for Girls. She was predeceased by her husband of seventy-one years, Paul J. Fike; her parents; sister, Genevieve Alt; and brother, Haldon Cole.
She will live in the hearts of her daughter, Diane Karen Metzger, Massillion, Ohio; sons, Paul J. Fike, II (Terry), Midland, Georgia, and Dennis Vern Fike (Millie), Perry, Florida; grandchildren, Val Evans, Paul J. Fike, III, Eric Milton Fike, Todd Metzger, Dennis Vern Fike, II, Angela April Thompson, Sandra Jones and Stephen Currie; great-grandchildren, Catilin A. Jones, Rachel Marie Fike, Ryan Michael Thompson, Abigail Elizabeth Fike, Caroline Hannah Fike, Zachery Dennis Fike, Abbygail Ashton Fike and Mathew Blake Thompson.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2009, at Trinity Methodist United Church, Dr. Bill Bagwell officiating. Interment will follow in Parkway Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 129 S. Houston Road, Warner Robins GA 31088.
