Virginia Self Mccook

Virginia Self McCook, 76, entered into rest on Sunday, February 19, 2012.

Virginia was born on November 5, 1935 in Broxton, Georgia. A kind and caring homemaker for most of her life, she also devoted fifteen years to teaching in childcare. Virginia was a member of Fort Valley Church of Christ, and she loved arts and crafts, baseball, and gardening. Her loving husband, Mike J. McCook; and parents, Archie Burke and Myrtice Conner Burke, preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her devoted children, Sherry Self Rucker, Fort Valley, Sheila Self Rucker (Clay), Fort Valley, David Self, Perry; brother, Horace Burke, Broxton, Georgia; and grandchildren, Jami Self, Laci, Joe, and Lane Rucker, Corey Thompson, and Cole and Shayanne Self.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 21, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Fort Valley Church of Christ, 1641 Peach Parkway – Highway 49, Fort Valley, Georgia. Burial will be private.
