Virgle E. Wallace, 83, entered into eternal life on Friday, October 24, 2008.
Mr. Wallace was born on October 31, 1924, in East Saint Louis, Illinois. He was a World War II veteran; he participated in the Berlin Airlift and served with pride and honor for thirty years in the U. S. Air Force, attaining the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. A resident of Warner Robins since 1966, he continued to serve as a civil servant at Robins Air Force Base working on F-15s. He was of the Catholic Faith and was a member of Our Lady of the Skies, Robins Air Force Base. He enjoyed several hobbies notably coin collecting and raising bees. His son, Richard Wallace, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of sixty years, Linda Oswald Wallace, Warner Robins; sons John Wallace and wife Chris, Salt Lake City, Utah and Robert Wallace and his wife Ann, Niceville, Florida; grandchildren, William, Kyle, Garrett and Ryan; and sister, Mildred Zupcic, St. Louis, Missouri.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 29, 2008, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2008, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
