Wallace J. Anderson, 86, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2015.
Wallace was born on January 13, 1929, in Osceola, Missouri. An active member of Shirley Hills Baptist Church, he faithfully served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He later worked at Robins Air Force Base for 30 years before retiring as an aircraft mechanic. During his retirement, Wallace enjoyed feeding birds and cheering for the Atlanta Braves. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather who could fix anything, his greatest treasure was the time spent with his family. His son, Dale Anderson, and his parents, and siblings, Velma Hon, Raleigh Anderson, and half-sister, Lena Nichols, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 64 years, Zelpha Anderson of Centerville; children, Sharon Anderson Andrews (Steve) of Warner Robins, Donald Anderson (Glenda) of Centerville, Kenneth Anderson of Woodstock, Connie Anderson Matthews (Gary) of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Ricky Anderson, Steven Andrews, Jr., Brandon Andrews, Christopher Matthews (Hannah), Michael Matthews; and great grandchildren, Sadie, Tony, and Austin Anderson.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 13, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 14, 2015, at Shirley Hills Baptist Church. Following the service, Mr. Anderson will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
