Walter O. Maine

Walter O. Maine, 75, died on Thursday, December 27, 2012.

Walter was born on July 26, 1937 in Bonaire, Georgia to the late Sylvester Maine and Emma Florence Ferguson Maine. He was a Mechanical Engineer and retired from Eglin Air Force Base after forty-six years as an Air Weapons Systems Analyst and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Fort Walton Beach, Florida. A kind-hearted and giving person, Walter was very passionate about Children in Crisis, Inc., and donated much of his time to the organization. In addition to his parents, his sister, Shelby Monroe, preceded him in death.

His memory will be treasured by his loving wife of fifty years, Latha Jean Coleman Maine; daughter, Tonya Lawrence (Matthew); grandson, Seth Lawrence; siblings, Helen McDaniel (Harlow), William Maine (Annie), Jimmy Maine (Peggy), Terry Maine, Gail Greene (Ronnie), and Donna Brown (David); and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 29, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Snow Hill Baptist Church in Cadwell, Georgia with interment following in Snow Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will accept flowers, or donations may be given to Children in Crisis, Inc., 1000 Luke's Way, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547.
