Walter W. Burns, 79, passed away on September 9, 2005, at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, September 11, 2005, in Parkway Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Charity of Choice.

Mr. Burns was born in Jackson, California. He retired from the United States Air Force as a Colonel. He served in World War II, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War. His wife, Margaret Burns; daughter, Rebecca Gail Burns; parents, Harry and Lucy Burns; sister, Martha Lee Drummond, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his nephews, Dwaine Gough (Rita), Grand Prairie, Texas; Gary Gough (Linda), Grand Prairie, Texas; Carl Gough (Gail), Red Oak, Texas; L.Z Drummond (Meredeth), Paola, Kansas; Andrew Drummond (Deanna), Lawrence, Kansas; nieces, Judy McCarty, Salina, Kansas; LaDonna Robinson, Topeka, Kansas.
