Wanslea Ramona Ellis Volskay

On the morning of Saturday, November 5, 2022, Wanslea Ramona Ellis Volskay, 88, went home to be with the Lord.

Wanslea was born on Sunday, November 12, 1933 in Albany, Georgia to the late Homer Edgar Ellis and Myrtle Sumner Ellis. Wanslea was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, Victor Theodore Volskay Sr., and sister, Teddy Lee.

She was the oldest of nine children and grew up during the Great Depression. Wanslea adored her family and treasured every moment she spent with them, whether at home or on the road as she traveled. She was an excellent cook, loved to garden, and had a love for art, especially painting. Wanslea was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution where she found a love for historical societies and family history.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Victor Theodore Volskay Jr. (Deborah), Timothy Kelly Volskay (Sandra), Alan Douglas Volskay (Amy) and Casey Otto Volskay (Susan); grandchildren, Ashley Stanford (Danny), Casey Martinez (Javier), Kristy Corrigan (Daniel), Lucas Ripley (Nichole), Josh, Jacob (Taylor), Jonathan, Kelly and Brooke; great-grandchildren, Paulina, Camilla, Abbagail, Asela, Samuel, Zeke, Jackson, Jacob, Olivia and Jennings; siblings, HL (Polly), Amy, Delura (Bob), Dawn (Olin), Barbara (Jim), Mike (Pat) and Andy (Pam); and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of extended family also survive.

Visitation with Mrs. Wanslea Ramona Ellis Volskay’s family will be Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. The funeral celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Pastor Lance Bernard officiating. Following the service, Mrs. Wanslea Ramona Ellis Volskay will be entombed in Magnolia Park Mausoleum.
