Warren R. Black of 306 S. Briarcliff Rd., Warner Robins, Ga., passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2003 at Portsbridge Hospice in Macon. Funeral Services will be held Monday October 6, 2003 from the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M and burial will follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday Night October 5, 2003 from 6:00 until 8:00. Memorials may be given to the Warren R. Black Fund at 306 S. Briarcliff RD, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
Born in Enterprise, Ala., Mr. Black was a Golden Glove State Boxing Champion. He was a four-year veteran of the United States Navy and fought in WWII. He was retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base, where he worked as a parachute foreman. He was a member of the Martha Berry Eastern Star and a Mason. He was also a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a deacon emeritus with Shirley Hills Baptist Church. His wife, Donna E. Black, and daughter, Deborah Walls, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his two daughters, Faye Black of Warner Robins and Ann Long of Warner Robins; sister, Hazel McLogin of California; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
