Waymon Daniel Butler, 93, entered into rest on Friday, November 16, 2012.
Waymon was born on March 17, 1919 in Appling County, Georgia and was a 1938 graduate of Milan High School. A proud veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, he served during World War II and later retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base after twenty-five years. From 1946 until 1956, Waymon operated his family farm in Milan and drove a school bus six of those years. He was a devoted member of Siloam Baptist Church in Milan for seventy-five years, and was a 32nd Degree Mason and Scottish Rite for fifty years. Waymon will always be remembered as a loving husband, daddy, granddaddy, and great-granddaddy. His parents, Odie and Susie Butler; and sister, Alma Stanley, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of sixty-six years, Myrtle Butler, Warner Robins; daughters, Daphine Ray (Richard), Warner Robins and Shirley Henderson Yaw, Albany, Georgia; grandchildren, Brandi Hamann, Warner Robins, Tracie Ray Falzone, Portland, Tennessee, Angie Murdock, Albany, Georgia, and Hugh Henderson, Norcross, Georgia; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2012 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with entombment following in Magnolia Park Mausoleum. The family will accept flowers, or donations may be given to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
