Wayne Blair Smith, Sr., 83, of Roberta, Georgia, entered into his heavenly home on Monday, September 18, 2023.
Wayne was born on December 14, 1939, in Waterford, Ohio. Wayne's love for God was evident in every facet of his life. His dedication to the teachings of Jesus Christ was unwavering, and he served as a living testament to the transformative power of faith. Wayne was a faithful member of the Way, Truth, Life, Full Gospel Church of Bonaire, Georgia. For many years, he enjoyed listening to the sermons of the late Reverend Frank and Ruth Sparks. With honor, Wayne also served his country in the United States Army before performing arms maintenance at Pyrotechnics.
His parents, Leo and Mable Smith; and several brothers and sisters all preceded Wayne in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of 57 years, Janet Sue Sparks Smith; children, Ruth Asenath Moog (Phillip) of Roberta, Wayne Blair Smith, Jr. (Cristyl) of Fort Valley, and Benjamin Bob Smith (Louise); one sister, Dorothy Smith of Florida; and one brother, Willie Smith of Ohio; Ashley, Delta and Joe Moog, Sarah Appleton, Sasha and Joshua Smith, and Cade Cox; as well as 9 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service celebrating Wayne's life will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Tina Crowell officiating. Wayne Blair Smith, Sr. will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
