Wayne S. Dimeler

Wayne S. Dimeler, 84, entered into rest on Saturday, August 15, 2009.

Mr. Dimeler was born on February 18, 1925 in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. A World War II veteran, he proudly served in the United States Navy and, until retirement, as an aircraft painter at Robins Air Force Base. He was a former member of Moose Lodge #596 in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, and a sixty-five-year member of the American Legion. Mount Calvary Lutheran Church was his church home. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Ann Dimeler, parents, George Dimeler and Catherine Sweigert Dimeler, brothers, Raymond, Vere, Donald and George, and sisters, Eva Carroll, Elva Funk and Anna Tripp.

Wayne was an avid antique clock collector who loved animals, particularly dogs. He especially enjoyed working outside in his yard, growing fresh flowers that he would gather in fresh bouquets and offer to the love of his life, his wife Jean. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of fifty-nine years, Jean L. Dimeler, Warner Robins; daughter, Kathy L. Grube (Danny); son, Dennis Dimeler, both of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Jason, Joshua and Jacob Grube, Dustin Dimeler, and Jeremy Mitchell; brother, William Dimeler (Kay); and a numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Pastor David Brighton officiating. Interment will be in Goods Cemetery in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania at a later date. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Suite A, Macon GA 31201. The family will receive friends at 104 Cherokee Forest Trail, Warner Robins, after the service
