Wayne Bedsole passed away at the age of 82 on Tuesday, March 22, 2016.
Wayne was born in Jackson, Georgia to the late James R. and Effie King Coleman on March 19, 1934. He was of the Baptist faith. A proud Army Veteran, Wayne served his country as a medic/paratrooper. In 1956, he moved to Warner Robins following his military career where he worked for over 30 years in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base before retiring. Wayne enjoyed gardening, working in the yard, and baking, as well as canning vegetables in his free time. Over the years, Wayne won numerous awards at the Georgia National Fair for his baking and canning entries.
He leaves behind to treasure his memory his devoted wife of 25 years, Frances Bedsole of Kathleen; children, Vickie Lacey of Warner Robins and Michael Wayne Bedsole (Mary Ellen) of Augusta; grandchildren, Seeb Lacey (Michelle), Parker Wayne Bedsole (Valerie) and Matthew M. Bedsole; great-grandchildren, Eden and Finn Lacey; sister, Sandra Bedsole Gammage of Warner Robins; and several adoring nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 24th from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 25th at First Baptist Church Warner Robins with Reverend Randall King and Pastor Chad Wood officiating. Following the service, Mr. Bedsole will be laid to rest in Locust Grove Cemetery, Locust Grove, Georgia at 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be given in memory of Wayne Bedsole to the Alzheimer's Association, 886 Mulberry St., Macon, GA 31201.
