Wilford "David" Carroll, Jr. went home to be with the Lord on February 10th, 2024, at the age of 68, following a brief illness.
Born in Macon, Georgia, on July 5, 1955, to Betty Busbee Carroll and the late Wilford D. Carroll, Sr., he grew up in Warner Robins. David graduated from Northside High School where he excelled and lettered in football, baseball, and golf. His competitive spirit never faded, as evident in his participation in adult softball throughout the years.
A truck driver for many years, David traveled across the country finding solace in the freedom of the highway. When he wasn't on the road, he was at home with his beloved late wife, Karen of 27 years.
Despite his reserved nature, David loved to talk, especially about his two great passions: sports and music. He was a die-hard Braves and Georgia Bulldogs fan. Life dealt David its share of setbacks, including several strokes that challenged his resolve. Yet he met them head-on, his perseverance and determination were an inspiration. David is preceded in death by his dad, Wilford David Carroll, Sr. and beloved wife, Karen Joyce Bivins Carroll.
His survivors include his children, Wil, Justin, Casey, Austin, and Tasha; mom, Betty Busbee Carroll; sister, Terry (Lee) Atkinson; nephews, Jeremy, and Nathaniel; mother-in-law, Merry Peacock; as well as several other nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and stepchildren.
A private ceremony will be held by his family to honor David, and he will be laid to rest privately.
