William Horton, age 71, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2003 at his home. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home at 11:00A.M. on Tuesday, October 28, 2003.
William Horton was born on November 10, 1931 in Newberry, South Carolina to the late Eugene and Carrie Horton. He served as a United States Marine, fought in the Korean War, and earned the UN Service Medal. He retired from the United States Army and Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base where he was an accountant. He was a member of the American Legion and the Pete Joyner Sunday School Class at Central Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Rigdon Horton, of Warner Robins; three sons, Eugene Horton (Ginger) of AL; Joseph Michael Lackey of SC; Daniel Martin Lackey of SC; and one daughter, Renee Squilante of FL; two sisters, Peggy Miller of SC and Judy Horton of SC; one brother, Larry Horton of OH; 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Central Baptist Church, Joy in the Journey, 1647 Watson Blvd., Warner Robins, GA 31088, or Hospice of Houston County, 103 Westridge Rd. Warner Robins, GA 31088.
